Our DJ program participants will experience learning the basic essentials of DJ performing arts with digital and analog turntables.
Time signatures: Students will learn the basic fundamentals with counting time signatures to transition music.
Beat Matching and BPMs: Students learn how to calculate beats per minute. Also, students learn how to match beats based on tempo.
Cueing: Students will learn how to manually cue music. The process used by DJs to lock beats from 2 different tracks. It is similar to the process of changing a sample rate in a digital domain or time.
Our DJ program provides DJ performing arts after school and summer enrichment activities to students grades 3rd thru 12th. Master Mix Academy DJ workshop was designed to educate students on the traditional and new technological art form of a Professional DJ. Students learn about analog and Digital sound perception using traditional analog turntables, Digital Turntables, and DJ MIDI controllers. Our DJ workshop provides interactive gross motor and DJ beat Rhythmic skill exercises to help introduce participants to DJ cueing and back spinning. Also, students learn about music structure development using the latest music production and Remix Digital Audio Workstation software.
Learning DJ audio Equipment:
students will participate in understanding all the functions of CDJ players, Numark PT01 turntable, Digital mixer, midi DJ software interfaces and DJ controller.

All participants will have a brief seminar on the history of DJ performing Arts.
